Please show some respect for our fabulous regular, Kerry Beauchamp! Kerry has brought a wealth of experience, skills and laughter to the freelance family at Blue Hat. We asked her a few questions about her experience at Blue Hat Teambuilding.
1.What is your favourite Blue Hat event and why?
My favourite Blue Hat event has to be the World Record Breakers Challenge. I love the amount of interaction we have with the client and how we can really help to guide them through the challenge and achieve their very best, and hopefully get a new official World Record!
What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learnt so far in your time freelancing with Blue Hat?
It would probably be the ability to adapt quickly to different situations, problems and clients. I have always had jobs where I’m working directly with people and it is so important to be flexible in so many ways to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
How do you balance your work life as a freelancer and being a mum?
Being a freelancer is a fantastic opportunity to work but also allows me to spend quality time with my little girl. So many of my friends have returned to full time work, I’ve been lucky enough to witness every single milestone she has achieved. Time is precious and I will never have these years again, I love the fact that Blue Hat has been extremely flexible which has allowed me to experience so much with her.
If you could offer one piece of advice as a parent what would it be?
Believe in yourself! So many people will tell you the right way or the wrong way to do things, especially people you barely know!!! Just trust that you know your child better than anyone else and don’t worry about what anyone else is doing. Oh, and buy shares in baby wipes.
Where is the best place you have ever travelled?
I’m not much of a traveller as I don’t fly but the best destination I have ever been to is Venice for my honeymoon. It was 2 weeks of absolute perfection and was just so romantic!
What is your all-time favourite film?
Airplane – it just makes me laugh every single time, it’s ridiculous!
What is the most exciting event you have ever worked on?
I worked as part of the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. The atmosphere and level of excitement from all involved was incredible!
Who is the most famous person you have met?
I haven’t met many major celebrities… I’ve met quite a few Z listers though. My claims to fame include getting drunk with Same Difference (from the X Factor) and almost running over one of the Cheeky Girls. I’d say the best of the bad bunch came in 1992, I met Mr Blobby at a Radio 1 Roadshow, and for a 10 year old that was a pretty big deal!
What is your favourite food?
Well, Slimming World is currently ruling my life but, if it wasn’t then it would have to be a curry with every side dish under the sun!
What 3 words would you use to describe your experience with Blue Hat?
Varied, fabulous & fun!
