The Frozen compass Christmas virtual game

The Concept

In times gone past, long before the invention of the satellite or the outbreak of Covid, the evil witch Hagatha Greywater vowed to end all travel in the world!

She cursed the magnetic fields of the earth and thereby froze the only known means of navigation; the compass.

Hagatha only saw one threat to her plan, that is of course you and your team. So she cursed you, and trapped you inside the very earth she had tampered with.

However, unbeknown to Hagatha, you and your team have some tricks of your own. You will use your own magic to restore the magnetic fields of the earth and undo Hagatha’s evil from within.

You will travel through the earth’s core from north to south, east to west and reinstate the world’s ability to travel by thawing the frozen compass, one cardinal point at a time.

But be wary, I’m sure Hagatha Greywater may notice something going on if you’re not careful.

How It Works

This activity can be experienced as a fully hosted event, or as a self-run option. Using our state-of-the-art app, it’s a race against the clock to solve the riddles to thaw the compass and move from cardinal point to cardinal point, all within about an hour and a half.

Each cardinal point will have its unique parameters and you will face a range of fun challenges, thought-provoking tasks and quizzical puzzles; all related to the story in which you are trapped!

Each solved challenge gives you a clue to the magic that will create the thaw and allow you to move to the next cardinal point, eventually freeing up the world to travel again.

After your event, we’ll announce the scores and send you a leader board so that you can see exactly how successful you were in comparison to the other teams.
